This is my favorite method because, for one, it costs the least amount of money out of these 3 methods to get started, and it is the easiest to start.
What I love about it is that you are simply recommending companies products or services to people and getting paid whenever time they buy something.

As you can see above, the best way for affiliate marketing to work in a long-term, profitable manner is to:
- Create a small website about a topic of your choice
- Create content and learn to drive free traffic to the website
- Recommend products and services on that website using affiliate links
- Earn a percentage of every sale made.
And before you run off thinking that websites are hard to create then you would be very wrong to assume that (I knew I did when I was just starting out)
Creating a website takes less than a minute to do with the SiteRubix Website Builder.
It’s the same tool I use to build this site and as you can see, it’s pretty functional.
You will then write reviews on the website about products that you have used or have knowledge about.
You then promote those products using the affiliate links you get from companies such as Amazon, BestBuy, eBay, Walmart, Nike, etc.

You now go to Google once again to look for the specific “Vitamix professional series 750 review”
Voila!
Do you see all those search results of affiliates websites showing up with the Vitamix blender reviews?…
The next natural step you would most likely take is to click on the first link (trustedreviews.com) to read their review of the blender.
You will be looking for things like the pros, the cons, the features and so on and so forth.
If you look closely at the screenshot below, there is also a link showing you to view it on eBay ie: (buy the blender).
That is actually an affiliate link embedded right there where I put the arrow…
That means if you were to click on it and buy the blender, the website owner at trustedreview.com would earn a commission from the sale.
Basically, they are providing value to people who are looking for good reviews on the Vitamix blender and if those people are satisfied with what they see, they can conveniently click on a button to buy it.
This is a WIN-WIN situation for both the customer and the person who wrote the review.
This is a good example showing you how affiliate marketing works on a website.
YouTube Affiliate Marketing Works The Same Way
This technique also applies to youtube.
I can guarantee that you must have watched a youtube video where the person tells you “click the link in the description!”
Most of these people are affiliate marketers and most of the links in the description are affiliate links…
When you come to think of it, every product or service that you have ever purchased in your lifetime, chances are there is an affiliate program for it – including the computer device you are reading this from.
Other companies that you may be familiar with such as Uber and Airbnb has affiliate programs where you can promote their services and get paid to do so.

2. START YOUR OWN ONLINE STORE (SHOPIFY DROPSHIPPING)
The next way for you to work online from home and get paid is to start and grow your own online store using the Shopify Platform.
This e-commerce industry is absolutely HUGE right now as you can see from the statistics at Statista.com.
It just keeps growing bigger and bigger each year…

It is estimated that by the year 2021, retail e-commerce sales will reach up to 4.88 trillion US dollars.
Let that sink in for a little while…
There’s a whole lot of money to be made in this space by people like you!
With so many people shopping online, now is a good time for you to consider getting involved in this business.
How does Shopify Drop Shipping Work?
It’s actually quite simple to get setup at home with a shopify dropshipping business.
Basically, what you do is sign up for a free 14 days trial using your email address.
They then provide you with a store where you can get set up in a relatively short period of time.
What you will be doing is adding products to your store using an incredible app called Oberlo.
This app takes product images and description from the Aliexpress website and adds them to your Shopify store.
At Aliexpress, the products are incredibly cheap since they are all made in China.
You will mark up the prices of the products on your store and advertise them to targeted audiences in the US, UK, Austrailia, etc on platforms such as Facebook and Google.
When those people land on your online store and make a purchase, all you have to do is use that same money, go to Aliexpress then purchase the product and have it sent to the customer.
The product above is a perfect example to illustrate how this works for you.
As you can see, it costs between $0.32 – $1.09 to purchase from Aliexpress.
That means you can easily markup the price to $10 – $15 on your Shopify store.
You will then be able to keep the difference from the transaction, therefore, that will be your profit.
The same Oberlo app I mentioned pretty much automates the entire process for you.
It automatically fills out the customer’s shipping address and places the order on Aliexpress so that it can be shipped out.
What I don’t like about this business model.
There are a couple of things that I don’t like about the Shopify drop shipping business model for working at home.
One is that the advertisement fees can get expensive in the beginning, especially if you don’t know how to use the Facebook Ads Manager properly.
Also the products coming from China does take a long time to arrive to the end customer.
This can leave a negative impression on your customer unless they were informed about this fact prior to buying the product(s).
If not, they may not return to your store to make other purchases.
Another thing is that you are responsible to handle customer services such as returns, chargebacks, etc.

I know that probably most of what I just explained to you may be a bit foreign and I do understand where you are coming from.

3. SELL ON AMAZON – (FBA)
Now, when it comes to working online at home and getting paid, selling on Amazon’s FBA platform provides one of the very best opportunities to help you.
What is Amazon FBA?
So, Amazon has this great program called Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA).
It’s basically a service where you sign up to sell products as a third party seller on Amazon.
You will be buying and shipping your products to their fulfillment center and have Amazon do all the picking, packing, shipping and customer service.
They currently charge $39.99 (at the time of this writing) plus additional fees per month for the professional seller account.
There is no monthly fee for the individual seller account, however, they charge $0.99 per every item you sell plus there are additional fees.
You get to choose which plan works the best for you…
How This Business Works
There are several ways how you can buy your products and have them sent into Amazon’s warehouses.
These includes:
- Private Labeling
- Online Arbitrage/Retail Arbitrage
- Online Retail
Private Labeling
Private labeling is where you research popular products already selling well on Amazon.
You then contact the manufacturers and have them make a variation of the product to put your own label on them.
The most widely used platform to get private label products made is from the Chinese multi-billion dollar company, Alibaba.com.
I can tell you right now that the private label method is highly profitable, however, it is the business which will cost you the most money to get started with.
First of all, you will need education and I can tell you that it won’t be cheap.
With popular Amazon FBA private label courses such as The Amazing Selling Machine (ASM), you will have to fork out almost $4K just for training.
Not many people that I know will have that kind of money laying around for training, however, if you have the funds, you can look into it and see if it’s for you.
Or…if you are looking for cheaper alternatives, you can check out 5 of them here.
You will also obviously need money to get the products made and have them shipped over to Amazon US, UK or any other major first world countries where Amazon’s warehouses are located.
To be honest with you, I don’t really like this business model that much because you can easily get emotionally attached to the product since it will now be your own brand.
There’s also a lot of moving parts involved such as obtaining private label licenses, writing your Amazon product listing description, hiring someone in China to quality test your products, etc.
Online or Retail Arbitrage
Online and Retail Arbitrage are two very similar methods of selling on Amazon FBA.
The only difference is that one is sourcing products strictly online (online arbitrage), while the other (retail arbitrage) is sourcing products from physical brick and mortar businesses such as Walmart and BestBuy.
What you are doing here is researching and finding products which are selling well on Amazon, buying them from places where they are being sold at a cheaper price, then re-selling them to make a profit.
People who use the method to sell on Amazon will usually use tools such as Tactical Arbitrage to find products that they can make a profit from.
Places such as Jet.com, walmart.com, and overstock.com are examples of places where people are buying lower-priced items and sending them into Amazon.
This is definitely not the professional, way of selling on Amazon and I am not recommending it to you.
If you are looking to have a long term sustainable business working from home this method won’t be it.
Many sellers over the years have gotten their Amazon selling account banned because Amazon does not like this arbitrage way of selling on their platform.
Yes, it’s true that money can be made, however, it’s a risky way of running an online business.
That brings me to the best alternative to this method and also is my top overall recommended way of selling on Amazon FBA…
*Online Retail – Recommended*
So the Online Retail model (also called Wholesale Retail) is what I see as the best way to utilize the Amazon FBA program from home.
This is the process of buying big brand name products in bulk from authorized wholesale suppliers then getting them shipped into Amazon’s warehouses.
This requires some work and persistence though…
You will have to be reaching out to these authorized suppliers and building some strong business relationships with them.
This enables you to negotiate the best possible prices on top-selling name brand products which you will be able to resell on Amazon.
You have to make sure that you have important documents such as reseller’s permit and a business license.
When suppliers see that you have these documents, they will know that you mean business and will be more willing to sell you their products.
You can find these authorized suppliers by usually traveling to tradeshows, or utilizing online sources such as Wholesale Central and Closeout Central.
I have also tried Worldwide Brands but found that most of the suppliers are not catering to Amazon FBA sellers.
What Is The Best Online Retail Training?
I have done a lot of research online to find out the best training on online retail selling.
What I have found is that there are just a few training and professional people teaching it.
Here are the 3 courses:

- The Online Retail Mastery Course by Beau Crabill
I found the Online Retail Mastery by Beau Crabill to be the best option for me.
The founder, Beau Crabill has been selling on Amazon using this model since he was a little boy and has also managed to retire his dad with the money that he has made.
His course is well presented with clear instructions and materials to help you fully master this way of selling.
He provides strong email support and is very responsive whenever time you ask him questions.
I would encourage you to read my review of the entire training so that you can get to see for yourself how it works and if it’s valuable to you.
